Coronation Street spoilers Richard Hillman RETURNS – now he’s back to destroy Gail Platt | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Longtime viewers will remember that killer Richard (played by Brian Capron), who murdered Maxine Peacock (Tracy Shaw), died in 2003 after drowning in the canal while trying to kill off the entire Platt family.

Now it seems the villain is back from the dead to curse Gail Platt (Helen Worth) from beyond the grave.

Clairvoyant Rosemary (Sophie Thompson) will reveal that Richard has put a curse on the Platt family.

The Platt family has seen more than their fare share of drama and turmoil with Gail losing two more husbands after Richard drowned.

Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) also suffered a mental breakdown, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) was put through a horrendous grooming storyline, and Kylie Platt (Paula Lane) was murdered.

All of these events will convince Gail that Rosemary is telling the truth.

Rosemary will explain that she is able to lift Richard’s curse, but at a high price.

But will Gail fall into Rosemary’s trap and hand over a large sum of money?

Rosemary also convinced Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) with afterlife stories during last night’s episode.

Audrey was in the salon taking bookings when Rosemary walked in after a recommendation from Mrs Abercrombie who had passed away six years ago.

While in the chair, Rosemary asked Audrey if she knew an Alf Roberts (Bryan Mosley).

Loyal fans will remember that Alf is indeed Audrey’s late husband who last appeared in the soap in 1999.

Viewers instantly took to social media following the broadcast, with one fan tweeting: “#Corrie didn’t expect Alf back on the cobbles… perhaps floating offer them…”

“Alf’s haunting the salon? #Corrie,” asked another, as a third said: “Guess who’s back? Alfie’s back! In ghost form. Amazing. #Corrie.”

However, many viewers were not happy with the medium and demanded that Audrey not fall victim to a con artist storyline.

One viewer tweeted: “Oh Audrey you aren’t falling for this, anyone could’ve found out your husbands name was Alf #Corrie.”

“#Corrie does the name Alf mean anything to you? Yep it means I spy a con woman,” posted another.

continues tomorrow on at 7.30pm.
