As season eight of Game of Thrones draws in, theories have been flying about which characters will make it all the way through the final chapter.
With a plethora of plots currently running side by side, it looks like no one is safe going into the final six episodes of the show.
But who will be left alive to claim the Iron Throne when all is said and done?
Although showrunners have been tight-lipped about the show’s end, a hint may have been dropped on where the show will go next.
Speaking at the INTV conference in Israel this week, HBO’s senior vice president of drama Francesca Orsi spoke about the final table read of the show.
Speaking at a panel titled The Best of HBO, Francesca said: “It was a really powerful moment in our lives and our careers.”
However the HBO boss then dropped an enormous hint on the fate of the cast.
She continued: “None of the cast had received the scripts prior, and one by one they started falling down to their deaths.”
Could this mean that more characters will be killed off in the final season than initially anticipated?
The end of the season eight read-through saw the cast participating in a 15-20 minute standing ovation, according to Francesca.
She commented: “It was amazing. By the very end, everyone looked down and looked up and tears were in their eyes.”
Francesca’s comments follow the theory that Gendry (Joe Dempsie) will kill Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) because of an Azor Ahai prophecy.
This theory comes after fans on Reddit believed they figured out who will next be reunited on the show.
The fans have mused that Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) will find himself facing his demons by meeting up with Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau).
But will the pair remain amicable after their first violent meeting?
Game of Thrones will return to Sky Atlantic in 2019.
