Luke Wilson, 46, has been involved in a fatal car accident in California, police have confirmed.
The crash has left one person dead and two injured, Detective Jeff Fischer of the LAPD told local television station KTLA. CNN is reporting actor Wilson was not injured.
He said: “I can confirm Luke Wilson was driving the vehicle, the Toyota FJ that was travelling northbound.
“His vehicle just basically got clipped by the Ferrari.
“Mr Bill Haas was the passenger in the Ferrari. Apparently, from what I was told, he’s doing OK too.”
Golfer Bill Haas, 35, was also reportedly involved in the accident. The driver of the car he was travelling in – a Ferrari – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two others were taken to a nearby hospital.
A statement from the Los Angeles Fire Department said the two injured parties were a 35-year-old male and a 50-year-old female.
Both are reported to be in serious condition.
Express.co.uk has contacted the actor’s lawyer and agent regarding the accident.
Thousands of well-wishers have taken to Twitter after hearing of the fatal accident. Joel Beall said: “Bill Haas, actor Luke Wilson involved in fatal crash. A source has confirmed with Golf Digest that Haas is “not good” but is in stable condition.”
Chris Stewart added: “Golfer Bill Haas was slated to be in next week’s Honda Classic. He was seriously injured in this crash in LA overnight. The car’s driver was killed.
“Actor Luke Wilson was in another car involved in the crash and is OK per Golf Digest.”
It’s believed the Ferrari had golfer Haas and a driver inside; the person driving, it’s reported, was pronounced dead at the scene last night.
Luke Wilson was driving a Toyota FJ SUV. It’s unknown who was driving the BMW.
