Who is in the cast of Shetland season 4?

The latest instalment of the BBC crime drama features a core cast of recurring characters as well as guest actors who feature in only one season.

Previous seasons have seen appearances from the likes of Game of Thrones actors Ciarán Hinds and James Cosmo, Archie Panjabi from The Good Wife and Anna Chancellor.

The fourth season will see the return of Douglas Henshall in the lead role as DI Jimmy Perez.

Reflecting on how his character has changed since season one, Henshall, 52, said: “I think he’s slightly more disillusioned than he was.

“Shetland’s a lot more violent than he thought it was going to be – people seem to get murdered there a lot! And I think he’s finding being without his wife a lot harder, and the idea that he is still alone 10 years after it happened is as much of a surprise to him as everyone else.

“Bringing up a young daughter has been very difficult and reminds him of the loss he’s had and how he can’t be with anyone that’s not good for her.”

Meanwhile, Alison O’Donnell is reprising her part of Jimmy’s partner DS Alison “Tosh” McIntosh.

Joining them once more will be Steven Robertson as DC Sandy Wilson.
